2020 Black Kite Cellars Wendling Vineyard Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley

Located in Anderson Valley’s remote “Deep End”, Wendling is the appellation’s northernmost vineyard. The site is rimmed by evergreens and often shrouded in fog, producing wines noted for their vibrancy and focus. Our 2020 Wendling Vineyard Pinot Noir is a study in evolving impressions. At first, an enticing mix of violets, orange Pekoe Tea, and baking spice take center stage, while as it opens, the rich berry core emerges, unfurling on the palate in rich layers, nuanced by dark chocolate and allspice. Lovely fine-grained tannins and bright acidity highlight the long, concentrated finish. Enjoy upon release or cellar for up to 7-9 years.
